The poet Christina Rossetti was born in December, before Christmas, and she died in December, after Christmas - a wintry birth and a wintry death. In 1872, she described another wintry birth in five verses. Now the poem has music and is a popular Christmas carol, "In the Bleak Midwinter". I like singing Christmas carols, though I haven't a sweet voice! Here's the first verse.
