I like the history of fashion. I am not fashionable myself, bit I find clothes interesting. I have several old family photos. Here's my mother with her little sister. They were Edwardian children. Their older brothers were Victorian! (There's too much silver in the photo, it is too dark.) They have white pinafores and black boots and their hair was curled. Who made the pinafores? Were they new? Their aunt was dressmaker to Queen Victoria. They were not dressed in white pinafores with white hairbands in curled hair every day! Why was the photo taken? Was the time the beginning of the Great War? Some of their brothers went off to fight. Today is my mother's birthday. Perhaps she is nine years old in the image.
